VISION
Bringing Church Leadership to a greater passion for the expansion and development of Christian Education.

MISSION

To come alongside the local church and assist in the training of its lay leadership through a one day intensive clinic.

PHILOSOPHY
Recognizing the need for continuous teaching and training of our leadership in the church. MACEA wants to provide assistance through training in current concepts, inspiring teaching and motivating sessions as a very reasonable cost. Different ideas, the latest resources, current concepts, plus food and fellowship will help bring excellence to your ministry and encouragement to your people. The six hour MACEA seminars in a local church near you will accomplish these goals.

OUR HISTORY

1973 was the birth year for MACEA. Several concerned Christian Educators met and organized NCSSA (North Carolina Sunday School Association). The next year, a Convention was held in Greensboro, NC. Later with much growth, and as attendees came from seven states, the name was changed to MACEA, (Mid-Atlantic Christian Education Association.) We are incorporated in NC.

All Committee members are volunteers, except our efficient, office manager. This position is a ministry with part-time salary.

In 1975, the Convention moved to Charlotte, meeting in Harding High School. Other meeting sites have been Calvary Church on Sardis Road, Central Church of God, East Coast Bible College, later, larger Calvary on Highway 51. In 1996 and 1997, we were at Heritage USA. In November, 1997, Heritage was sold, forcing us to Palmetto Center in 1998. From 1999 to 2002, Ridgecrest Conference Center near Asheville was our home.
The next year brought us to the facilities of First Wesleyan Church in High Point, NC. This "state of the art" site is excellent for MACEA'S activities. MACEA as been in High Point for four years.

In 2006 Dr. John McMurphy was elected president of MACEA during our annual elections. He is also a field representative for David C. Cook for the northeastern United States. Today MACEA is lead by Rev. Bob Ferster.
Through the years, MACEA has been blessed with keynoter "giants in the faith." Some are: Josh McDowell, Tony Evans, Mark Corts, Joni Eareckson Tada, Ross Rhoads, David Jeremiah, Jerry and Jonathan Falwell, Leith Anderson, Anne Graham Lotz and Elmer Towns.
